A Little About Me
My name is Matthew R. Rochon and I was born at a very young age in a town in southeast Michigan on a very balmy August day back in 1975.
I've worn several hats through this life since starting work at sixteen; I've been a busboy, new car prep, bookseller, accounts payable clerk, guitarist in a blues band, metal worker, and now a freelance web designer.
I've got two beautiful children (ages seven and two) and a lovely wife to whom I have been happily married for the last ten years.
When daily life isn't tugging on my coat sleeve, I enjoy reading; I'll read just about anything. I'd have to say John Steinbeck is my favorite author, but I'm partial to P.J. Parrish mysteries and poetry as well. Western Haiku is fascinating. My dream is to have a dark wood-paneled library with a fireplace and a ladder that slides on rollers for the high shelves.
As far as movies go, Shawshank Redemption is up towards the top of my list of favorites, but lately the Dewey Cox movie is where its at. I think setting is important in movies; I'll even get stuck on a bad movie if the setting is good.
Why do I want to be a web designer? Because I believe in aesthetics and functionality. Access to useful information is right up there with food, water, and shelter as one of our most vital necessities as we go about our lives, and I want to be a part of providing that.
